Enhancing the quality of life for patients and residents is the mission of the Cumberland Memorial Hospital and Extended Care Unit Auxiliary. The Auxiliary also supports the community in health-related needs by offering scholarships to students in healthcare professions and Lifeline units, an at-home emergency call system. The CMH-ECU Auxiliary has assisted our healthcare facility with purchases such as:

Baby's First Books Equipment for Pediatric Patients Manequin for Staff Education Outdoor Glider Swing Umbrella Tables for Courtyard Wheelchairs Whirlpool Tub for ECU

Some of the activities Auxiliary members participate in include: Escort Service: Volunteers assist patients to clinic waiting areas for their outpatient appointments. Gift Shop: The Auxiliary operates a Gift Shop in the hospital entrance area. Visitors, patients, and staff are able to conveniently shop for cards and gifts. Plants and Flowers: Volunteers water the plants at the facility each week and plant outdoor flowers in the spring. Crafts: Members make table decorations for ECU and seasonal items when needed. Fundraising: Members donate food and/or time to Meal-With-A-Peel, Pie & Ice Cream Social and Love Lite Tree events. These activities support scholarships and health-related programs. Parenting Letter: This letter to new parents is a project with Kiwanis. Knit Caps For Newborns: Members knit caps which are given to all new babies. Courier Service: Volunteers transport lab samples between facilities.

Medical Clinic offers a full spectrum of care for you and your family, including diagnostic imaging and laboratory services. CMH-ECU includes a 40 bed acute care hospital offering a full range of medical services, a long term care unit and a 20 unit apartment building CMH has 16 psychiatric beds in a secured inpatient setting.
